About ArbKeep

Keep trees alive.

The record, the reader, and the science behind them.

A tree can outlive five owners and a dozen arborists. Its care history usually leaves with whoever did the last job. ArbKeep keeps it.

The record

One chart per tree, anchored to the property. Every visit, photo, soil panel and lab result, dated and kept for the life of the tree, through every owner.

The reader

Alex reads the whole chart, not just today's photo, along with the weather at the property and what's active on each species now. It drafts the write-up. The judgment stays with the arborist, who signs it.

The science

Samples go to the university lab in your state, and the results land on the tree they came from. Plans cite the published standards. The science was always public; ArbKeep puts it behind every independent arborist.

Why a record

Year five is worth more than year one.

Every visit adds to the chart. A diagnosis made in spring meets its outcome by fall, on the same page. Over years, that's how a practice learns what works, and how a tree gets care that fits it.

It works the way medicine does
  • the patient→the tree
  • the physician→the arborist
  • the caregiver→the homeowner
  • the lab→the extension lab
  • the chart→ArbKeep
Who's building it

One working arborist, so far.

David All came to trees by way of the old growth on Washington's Olympic Peninsula and a year and a half on his family's heritage apple orchard in Pennsylvania. Now he's home in Upper Arlington, Ohio, where he runs Upper Arlington Tree Co. Every feature in ArbKeep ships to his own clients' trees first.

Before trees, twenty years of starting things: a social media agency built from nothing, an addiction treatment clinic for people without insurance, and published spatial epidemiology with Ohio State.

Small on purpose. The dream is a company of practitioners.
